President & CEO
Prerna Singh is the President, CEO and founder of The Pledging Tree Foundation. Prerna started TPTF as her high school graduation project in 2007. She is a firm believer of enabling people to take control of their lives and wants to make a noticeable contribution by changing people lives and shaping the community where she lives.
Prerna is a Senior Product Manager at Mashable. She leads team of data scientists, designers and engineers on the Product Team to deliver the best Mashable experience for users, both online and offline. She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where she received a B.S. in Business Administration and Human-Computer Interaction and a minor in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to Mashable, Prerna worked for clients such as Google and Nestle, helping them build better user experiences. She is an avid fan of Indian classical music and enjoys learning to play sitar in her free time.

Chairman of the Board
David Hoyer is a practicing Certified Financial Planner (CFP). He is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the professional organization for Certified Financial Planner practitioners. In addition to serving on the board of The Pledging Tree Foundation, Dave currently serves as Vice President for Pro Bono Services of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Tri-State Chapter of the Financial Planning Association and previously served as the Secretary of the Central New Jersey Chapter.
Dave is a 1971 graduate of the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia with a B.A. in Government. Dave is also a 1980 graduate of the Graduate School of Consumer Banking. Dave lives in Yardley, Pennsylvania with his wife and son.
Board Member & Director, Financial Education
Eric Daugherty is currently the co-Chief Financial Officer of the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA. Prior to that, he was the CFO of the Pennsylvania SPCA, a Principal and Director of Research at kasina, a consulting and research firm focused on the asset management industry, and a Principal at the Vanguard Group, leading their Retail Advice Services Group. Prior to his ten years at Vanguard, Eric performed economic analyses for Amoco Exploration & Production, and started his career with five years of international tax work with Price Waterhouse.
Eric is a Certified Financial Planner (R). A passionate advocate for financial literacy among students and young adults, Eric has been involved with Junior Achievement, the Financial Planning Association Pro Bono committee, and independent work with local school districts. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and holds a Chartered Advisor for Senior Living designation from American College. He has sat on the Boards of Directors of the Philadelphia Tri-State Chapter of the Financial Planning Association and the kasina Youth Foundation. Eric has been interviewed by numerous industry publications and given presentations and webcasts to diverse audiences on topics related to retirement, financial planning, and investing. He is a graduate of Lehigh University and the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania.
Timothy Catanzano serves as a Relationship Manager at the Vanguard Group, headquartered in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Tim has served in various capacities over his 10 year tenure at the organization, supporting several retirement plan offers – including Vanguard’s Individual Annuity program. Currently, he is responsible for supporting nonprofit employer sponsored 403(b) retirement plans in Vanguard’s Retail Retirement Service business segment, primarily within the Public K-12 market space.
Prior to joining the Vanguard organization, Tim served as a Market Research Analyst for Main Line Health Systems and as Financial Planner for the MONY Group (now part of AXA Equitable). Tim holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Scranton, and is currently in pursuit of a Masters Degree in Information Science from Penn State University. He also is an active volunteer with My Classroom Economy, an organization charged with promoting financial literacy within public school systems, as well as the United Way’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance. He currently resides in West Chester, Pennsylvania with is wife and two children. Tim’s experience within financial services, market research and business analytics will assist in our efforts to expand The Pledging Tree Foundation’s reach and carry the organization’s mission into other communities.
Chairman of the Board (2007-2010)
Matthew Hammond is Executive Vice President of Traffic Planning & Design, Inc., a 130-member traffic engineering consulting firm with offices in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Mr. Hammond also sits on the Board of Traffic Planning & Design and has since 2001. In 2002, he was named by Drexel University as “Young Alumnus of the Year” for his contributions to the University and well as his past philanthropic support outside of the University. Mr. Hammond graduated from Drexel University in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and currently is a licensed professional engineer in the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia and Delaware. Mr. Hammond lives in Downingtown with his wife Lauren and son Owen.
Tory Taylor, Board Member & Chairperson, Family Enrollment,
Tory Taylor is currently working as a Senior Paralegal at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP, Wilmington, Delaware. Mrs. Taylor has a total of over 25 years of experience working as a paralegal for two major Philadelphia law firms, two major corporations, and finally AstraZeneca, where she has worked since 1999. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, a graduate of the former Institute for Paralegal Training, and also attended Columbia University Graduate Business School. She and her husband have three grown children. They currently live in Berwyn, Pennsylvania.
Annisa Knight is currently an HR Specialist, Coatesville/Bath Recruitment and Staffing Office for the Department of Veteran Affairs. She has been working for the Department of Veterans Affairs for the past nine years. She currently holds her Bachelor’s degree in Human Performance Management. She moved her way up through the ranks to become a Human Resources Specialist. She graduated from the Pledging Tree Foundation program in September, 2009. She shares a strong passion to help others..
Sponsors Relationship Director
Pranjal is responsible for developing business relationships and raising funds to achieve the foundation’s business goals. Specific responsibilities include identifying and cultivating new donors (individuals, businesses, and foundations), managing fundraisers and special events. Pranjal is currently studying at University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and has been involved with other community projects. He brings fundraising experience from his college clubs.
Andy is an attorney with the law firm of Fox Rothschild LLP in Exton, Pennsylvania. Andy represents and counsels public/private companies and private equity funds on the selling and buying sides of mergers and stock and asset acquisition transactions. His other areas of focus are private equity funds, venture capitalists, emerging companies in equity/debt financing transactions, issuers in private and public securities offerings, public companies, and public company affiliates in ongoing reporting and compliance matters, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. In addition to this, Andy has numerous clients on general corporate matters and in connection with licensing and commercialization agreements.
Andy is a graduate of Moravian College and Santa Clara University School of Law. Andy and his family live in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.

Vijay Yadav is an accomplished Quality and Compliance (Q&C) executive with over 17 years of experience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing, operations, quality assurance, and commercial functions. Mr. Yadav is currently working as a Senior Director, IT Quality with inVentiv Health, Somerset, NJ. He brings extensive organizational change management and process improvement experience to The Pledging Tree foundation. In his current role as Vice President, Operations at TPTF, he oversees foundation’s operations and provides day-to-day leadership presence to all volunteers.

Mrs. Seema Singh comes from a teaching background. She has taught science and mathematics to 5th grade students. Mrs. Singh also worked as an Office Administrator with Sunformix Inc. She has been actively involved in volunteer projects at various schools and has a deep interest in community work.

Ex-Board Member & Ex-Public and Media Relations Director (2007-2010)
Lisa Newcomb currently works as a National Director for the Melanoma International Foundation, in Glenmoore, Pennsylvania. She comes with over 12 years of experience in education, fundraising, event planning, training, and creative communications. She holds a Bachelor degree in Education from Messiah College, in Grantham, PA. She is a member of various professional associations such as the National Education Association, Pennsylvania State Education Association, and National Association for the Education of Young Children. Lisa currently lives with her family in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.
